You would probably end up spending more time chatting on discord and Skype than playing ingame which kept you fairly busy and occupied. Tbh the game was more about the players you ended up playing with and the team work. When I started playing there would have been 20/30 oceans full now it's only the core 4 each time. Now they are designed to close after 6 months or so which means everything you do gets deleted pretty fast in comparison.
The game has pretty much died off though and the servers used to last a lot longer so you would be easily 100/150 cities+ before they ended.
(Assuming you tried conquest and not revolt). Then it becomes a lot more strategic timing attacks/def to the colony wave to hold the city for the conquest time. There's a lot more too it than that, All cities start the same but when you are trying to balance def and offense cities to conquer more cities off other players you start to adjust how they're set up.
